The celebration began on an inspiring note as our respected Chairman, Advocate Ravi Dutt Sharma and Director, Dr. Ruby Sharma graced the occasion and shared the true significance of Vaisakhi with the students, encouraging them to stay connected with their cultural roots.
To celebrate the festival of harvest with joy and authenticity, the school organized a special activity “Let’s Root the Culture.” The campus came alive with colour, tradition, and festive spirit as children arrived dressed in beautiful traditional Punjabi attire, reflecting the richness of Punjab’s heritage.
The celebration beautifully recreated the charm of a traditional Punjabi village (pind). Students showcased a lively harvest scene with kanak (wheat), symbolizing prosperity and gratitude for nature’s blessings. A traditional setup featuring a chulha, pankhiya, chajj, and the classic wooden tools used for making fresh lassi added an authentic rural touch and gave students a glimpse into the lifestyle of earlier times.
The highlight of the event was the energetic performances by students who presented vibrant Bhangra and graceful Gidda, filling the atmosphere with rhythm, enthusiasm, and festive joy. Through dance, drama, and role-play, children not only celebrated the festival but also learned the cultural and historical importance of Vaisakhi.
The activity successfully helped students connect with their roots, understand the value of traditions, and celebrate the spirit of togetherness and gratitude. It was truly a joyful and memorable celebration that strengthened cultural pride among young learners.
